Victorious by shutout the day before, the visitors from the Outaouais played a nasty trick on the Nord-Côtiers and took advantage of this comeback to sweep the honors of this double program.
The hosts had however started the match in force by forging a two-goal lead, those of Matthew MacDonald and Félix Gagnon in the first period.
Forward Vincent Collard then tripled his team’s lead in the ninth minute of the second period and everything seemed to be swimming in oil in the Baie-Comois clan.
Decisive seconds
Things quickly changed and, in 44 seconds, the Olympiques scored three times to revive the debate.
“That’s where the game was played. The energy on the bench has fallen and that’s still part of the learning curve,” railed head coach Jean-François Grégoire.
