QMJHL | The Mooseheads are defeated by the Wildcats

(Moncton) The Moncton Wildcats came from behind twice and handed the Halifax Mooseheads their first regulation-time loss Sunday, 5-3.

After trailing 1-0 then 2-1, the Wildcats (4-3-0) exploded with four unanswered goals to take control of the game.

Étienne Morin, Cole Bishop, Miles Mueller and Alex Mercier hit the target for the Wildcats during the offensive sequence. Charles Beaudoin was the first goalscorer for the locals.

Preston Lounsbury and Adam Fortier-Gendron had two assists in the win.

Attilio Biasca scored his third and fourth of the season in the loss, while Jordan Dumais also rocked the ropes for the Mooseheads (4-1-1).

Vincent Filion stopped 29 shots in the direction of the Wilcats cage. His opponent, Mathis Rousseau, allowed five goals on 26 shots.

Voltigeurs 1 – Islanders 4

Despite conceding a goal after only 1:34 of play, the Charlottetown Islanders took the measure of the Drummondville Voltigeurs 4-1.

Lucas Romeo scored twice for the locals.

Oceanic 1 – Foreurs 3

Kale McCallum scored a goal and an assist and the Val-d’Or Foreurs defeated the Rimouski Océanic 3-1.

Sea Dogs 0 – Tigers 7

Gabriel D’Aigle stopped 29 shots, Thomas Belgarde had two goals and an assist and the Victoriaville Tigres beat the Saint-Jean Sea Dogs 7-0.
