QMJHL | The Armada wins 5 to 0 against the Oceanic

Alexis Gendron collected a goal and an assist on Saturday, helping the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada win 5-0 in Rimouski, against the Océanic.

Gendron gave his team a 1-0 lead with a fine solo effort early in the middle period. He kept the puck at the end of the zone, quickly created space to the left and scored with a wrist shot. Gendron was then an accomplice to the net of Anri Ravinskis, early in the third period.

Alexey Kulikov scored by deflecting Zachary Cardinal’s shot-pass in the middle of the period, then Jonathan Fauchon added a brace. Charles-Edward Gravel blocked 32 shots for the visitors.

The home club hit the post on three occasions, in what was a third consecutive loss.

Baie-Comeau 6, Chicoutimi 4

Justin Poirier got his fourth goal of the season and the Drakkar went undefeated in three games, winning 6-4 over the Saguenéens.

Sherbrooke 6, Val-d’Or 1

Joshua Roy scored twice, Ethan Gauthier was an accomplice to three goals and the Phoenix collected a third straight victory, 6-1 against the Foreurs.

Charlottetown 2, Acadie-Bathurst 1 (P)

Patrick LeBlanc scored at 1:02 into overtime and the Islanders started their season well, winning 2-1 against the Titan. Francesco Lapenna stopped 45 shots in a winning cause.

Cape Breton 4, Halifax 5 (P)

Markus Vidicek threaded the needle at 3:22 in overtime and the Mooseheads started the campaign on the right foot, beating the Eagles 5-4. Jordan Dumais collected three assists for the winners.

Moncton 4, Saint John 1

Yoan Loshing had a goal and two assists to help the Wildcats defeat the Sea Dogs, 4-1.

Quebec 3, Gatineau 2 (P)

Théo Rochette ended the debate at 1:13 in overtime and the Remparts defeated the Olympiques, 3-2.

Shawinigan 4, Rouyn-Noranda 2

Mathis Cloutier went there with two goals and an assist as the Cataractes prevailed against the Huskies, 4-2.
