Goaltender Mathis Rousseau had a stellar night, stopping 38 pucks and scoring the insurance goal into an empty net, and he was one of the stars of a 6-4 victory for the Halifax Mooseheads over the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, in one of the six games on the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League schedule, Friday evening in Halifax.
Rousseau scored his goal at 16:38 of the third period. After making a routine save, he placed the puck on the ice and cleared it into the opposing net, left empty for the benefit of a sixth attacker.
This goal then allowed the Mooseheads to give themselves a 6-3 lead.
Thomas Verdon then beat Rousseau at 19:49 of the third period.
The other big star of the match was striker Jordan Dumais, author of three goals and two assists.
Markus Vidicek and Reece Peitzsche scored the other goals for the Mooseheads.
Louis-Philippe Fontaine, Antonin Verreault and Jérémy Langlois also hit the target for the Huskies.
The Mooseheads won even though they only had 18 shots on the Huskies net.
