She sent a letter to this effect to the members of the Liberal caucus on Tuesday, the day after an interview with Dominique Anglade. The Liberal leader had then offered to return to caucus, four days after having expelled her.
Marie-Claude Nichols finally gave her answer at the end of the morning. She doesn’t want to be “the lifeline of a leadership that gets lost in unexplained, thoughtless and hasty decisions,” she wrote in a letter that was first revealed by political columnists from Cogeco and Quebecor. and confirmed at The Press.
During a meeting on Monday evening, presidents of PLQ associations informed Dominique Anglade that she should first and foremost reinstate Mme Nicholas. They even made it a test of leadership, as testified to The Press participants in this meeting.
The elected in Vaudreuil since 2014 therefore remains an independent MP.
