AJA supporters sanctioned by the disciplinary commission of the Professional Football League! On Wednesday evening, the authority declared the closure for two matches of the Leclerc stand at the bottom of the Abbé-Deschamps stadium, that of the Ultras Auxerre 90. The reason? The use of pyrotechnic devices, prohibited in football stadiums: smoke, firecrackers and fireworks during the 30 years of the group of supporters on November 6 on the occasion of the AJA-Pau meeting (victory 4 -1, 15th day. L2) in front of more than 10,000 spectators.
If we had to do it again tomorrow, we wouldn’t change anything! There were no injuries, nor any overflow. It was a festive moment. – Mathieu Jacquot alias “Uasco”, leader of the Ultras Auxerre 90
The leader of the Ultras, Mathieu Jacquot, is not surprised that the ax falls. “When we know the component of the disciplinary committee and the intelligence of their members, we knew what to expect, he explains. It was either a big fine, which may still happen in the days to come, or a grandstand closure. “ But for “Uasco”, no regrets! “If it had to be done again tomorrow, we would not change absolutely nothing! There were no injuries, no overflow. It was a festive moment. We celebrated our 30 years, as we wanted.”
This sanction once again raises the question of the use of pyrotechnic devices in sports arenas, while an experiment carried out at the start of the season had enabled the supporters of the Toulouse club, with the authorization of the LFP, to bring in at the stadium, in a very controlled manner, smoke bombs. Mathieu Jacquot does not evade the subject. “Whether it’s dangerous if it’s misused, I can imagine, there is no problem. A smoke flame, it burns over 1000 degrees, no problem. There has been a tremendous amount of abuse. in the past, hence the sanctions put in place now. Except that after a while, you have to know how to move forward with the times! “
For the leader of the Ultras Auxerre 90, the sanctions imposed by the disciplinary committee of the LFP are “pure and hard hypocrisy”. “It is even racketeering! The clubs, including AJ Auxerre are part, are racketeered for each ignition of smoke.” And Mathieu Jacquot to target the members of the disciplinary commission of the League, “who know absolutely nothing about French football” corn “tell us what to do”.
There are four stands in the stadium, and it is not the disciplinary committee that will prevent us from coming – Mathieu Jacquot alias “Uasco”, leader of the Ultras Auxerre 90
In the end, the closure of the Leclerc stand down at the Abbé-Deschamps does not seem to worry more than that to support Auxerrois. “There are four stands in the stadium, and it is not the disciplinary committee that is going to prevent us from coming. Either way, don’t worry: we will all be present, together, at the stadium.”
The AJA has not yet officially communicated about the sanction of the disciplinary committee of the LFP. The closure for two matches of the Leclerc bas stand will concern AJA-Caen on Saturday 4 December (3 p.m., 17th day L2), and the following home match, which could either be the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France (weekend of December 18 and 19) or AJA-Le Havre (Tuesday December 21, 19th day L2).
In the meantime, the Icaunais return to the training grounds this Thursday after a day of rest. They are preparing their trip to Dijon on Monday for the return of the Burgundy derby after five years of absence. A meeting for which the visitor parking lot in Gaston-Gérard, that of Auxerrois, will be full with no less than 600 Ajaïst supporters! There are still places to be taken for other stands, on the DFCO online ticket office.
