Tensions between North and South Korea continue to mount on the edge of the demarcation line. Latest episode: simultaneous air force demonstrations, Friday, November 4, on both sides of the border.

The escalation of tension between Seoul and Pyongyang reached a new stage on Friday November 4. Nearly 180 fighter jets have been deployed by the North Korean army, said South Korea, which is conducting large-scale joint military exercises with the United States off the peninsula.

North Korean fighters flew over the north of the line “tactical action“Said Seoul. This virtual line is used by South Korea for its air defense. Neither side seems ready to release the tension. If North Korea wishes to continue the current show of force streak, it could conduct its nuclear test, preparations for which appear to have been completed for many months. The United Nations Security Council is due to meet to discuss the worrying situation on the peninsula, after around 30 missiles fired by Pyongyang in recent days. But since the start of the war in Ukraine, Moscow and Beijing seem ready to oppose any new sanctions against North Korea.
