Roza Thun, Polish MEP from the Renew group, said on Wednesday April 27 on franceinfo that Ukrainians are more united against Russia since the start of the war. “I welcome [chez moi] six refugees from eastern Ukraine for two months. When they arrived they spoke Russian, and now in Poland they are learning Ukrainian intensively, because when they return to Ukraine they no longer want to speak Russian.” “Putin has brought Ukrainians together even more” and the countries of the European Union, according to her.

Roza Thun calls for the establishment of a European embargo on Russian oil and gas. “This war, we have to win it together, and that goes through the embargo”, she says. She adds : “Otherwise we will pay for this Russian army which is destroying a country and people.” “We must react decisively, courageously and all together” for “shorten the war”.
“Putin is an imperialist, if we don’t stop him now, he will continue”, insists the MEP. For Roza Thun, “It was Putin who entered the war, and we are defending ourselves.”
