Pursued by several women | Robert Miller sells Future Electronics for 5.14 billion

Montreal billionaire Robert Miller, prosecuted for allegations related to child prostitution, has just sold his company Future Electronics for 5.14 billion Canadian dollars to a Taiwanese industry giant.

WT Microelectronics, a Taiwan company active in the distribution of semiconductors, has confirmed the purchase of 100% of the shares of Future Electronics, the distributor of electronic components founded by Robert Miller in 1968 and whose head office is still located in Pointe- Clear.

In the Quebec Business Register, Robert Miller is currently registered as the sole shareholder of the holding company which owns the company, present in 47 countries with 5,200 employees.

“Future Electronics has an experienced management team with depth and an extremely talented employee base, and it is highly complementary to WT Microelectronics,” said Eric Cheng, CEO of the Taiwanese company.

“Future’s management team, all its employees around the world and all its facilities and distribution centers will continue to operate,” he assured.

The company was in turmoil since the broadcast of a report from the show Investigation from Radio-Canada, last February: around ten women confided to journalists that they had had sex for money with billionaire Robert Miller, founder of Future Electronics, between 1994 and 2006. Six of them allegedly claimed that they were minors at the time of the events.

The broadcast of the report loosened many tongues. About thirty women who said they had a similar experience when they were minors raised their hands to participate in civil actions against the billionaire.

A class action request and two individual lawsuits were filed at the Montreal courthouse. Several complainants claim that employees of Future Electronics collaborated in the system of recruiting young girls in order to satisfy the sexual appetites of the founder of the multinational, over the years.

Mr. Miller has always denied the allegations and says they are repeated for financial gain by some people.
