Purchasing power law: the Assembly votes the deconjugalization of the AAH and the revaluation of pensions and social benefits

The deputies of the National Assembly voted, on the night of Wednesday July 20 to Thursday July 21, the deconjugalization disabled adult allowance. A rare moment of harmony in the hemicycle, since the measure was adopted with 428 votes in favor against only one against. This social benefit is intended to compensate for the inability to work. The parliamentarians of all the groups had tabled amendments so that the income of the spouse is no longer taken into account in the calculation of the aid.

Until now, the amount of the allowance was calculated on the basis of household income. This is no longer the case with the adoption of this measure. Second flagship measurement adopted Wednesday : the 4% increase in pensions and social benefits. It will take effect from July 1, 2022, retroactively, without waiting for the annual automatic revaluation date. In detail, are in particular concerned retirement and disability pensions from the basic schemes, family allowances and social minima such as the RSA, the solidarity allowance for the elderly, or scholarships based on social criteria for students.
