The war in Ukraine could drive up energy prices, which are already soaring, even further. In France, the liter of diesel exceeds 1.74 euroAnd the one of MS 95 is almost 1.80 euro. This is an average established last week, which does not take into account the increase caused by the attack on Ukraine. Today, the price of a barrel of oil exceeds 100 dollars.

Fuel prices are flying from record to record, with almost four cents more in one week. They could increase further with the war in Ukraine. In a service station in the Paris region, motorists are a little resigned to the idea that the price of a liter of gasoline crosses the bar of two euros. In France, the liter of SP 95 reaches 1.79 euro on average, an increase of 3.8 cents compared to last week. That of diesel reached 1.74 euroor 3.6 cents more than last week.

This increase is caused by the price of a barrel of oil, which has been rising steadily for a year. But, with the war in Ukraine, the trend has accelerated further: on the evening of Monday, February 28, a barrel of oil is at 100 dollars. It increased by 4% since the beginning of the Russian intervention. At this stage in France, no new aid measure is envisaged by the government.
