Publication of a book on the centenary of the Strasbourg School of Architecture

Here is a work carried out on the occasion of a centenary, that of the school of architecture of Strasbourg, created in 1921. Finally, rather the ENSAS, the National School of Architecture of Strasbourg, it slaps a little more. It is located on Boulevard du President Wilson, next to Les Halles.

This book questions the imprint of the school in the architectural and urban development of Alsace since its foundation, by shedding light on the trajectories of architects, teachers and students, their projects and achievements.

And there were beautiful people who went through it, many styles, too, from the introduction of Art Deco to that of contemporary trends, through post-war reconstructions, the construction of large housing estates and public or religious facilities, is emerging a modernity attentive to local landscapes.

This production reveals effects of generations linked to the great builders brought to the head of the school and its workshops. At the same time, the students’ drawings reveal a real graphic, plastic and theoretical research that exploits the potential of the local terrain.

This book of 144 pages, 200 illustrations, 24 x 29 cm, is published with the support of the National School of Architecture of Strasbourg and the regional direction of cultural affairs of the Grand Est.

It is priced at 22€, but if you decide before March 10, tomorrow, you can acquire it by subscription at the price of 19 euros.
