Public sector negotiations | The FIQ will be on strike again on November 23 and 24

(Montreal) The FIQ announces two more days of strike, November 23 and 24, while it begins its first two days of strike this Wednesday.

The Interprofessional Health Federation represents 80,000 nurses, practical nurses, respiratory therapists and clinical perfusionists in Quebec.

The president of the FIQ, Julie Bouchard, announced these next two days of strike, while she visited her members near the picket lines in a health establishment in Quebec.

She specified that the FIQ negotiating committee was going to be at the negotiating table again on Thursday to try to move this forward, which has been going on for several months. Public sector collective agreements expired on March 31.

In addition to salaries, the FIQ is demanding a law on safe nurse/patient ratios, as well as more stability in positions. The union organization complains that the government wants to be able to move nurses from care units and shifts, as needed.
