Public sector negotiations | Quebec presents a new salary offer to the common front

(Quebec) The Legault government presents a new salary offer to the common front on Wednesday, which is due to launch seven consecutive days of strike on Friday.

The previous government proposal, tabled on October 29, was immediately described as “derisory” and “insulting” by the union leaders of the common front (CSN, FTQ, CSQ and APTS).

The Legault government then put on the table salary increases of 10.3% in five years for the 600,000 state employees, in addition to bonuses representing 3% for certain categories of workers and a lump sum for all of 1000 $ the first year.

Prime Minister François Legault has already signaled that he will revise his proposal upwards.

Work at the central table, where salaries are discussed, resumes this Wednesday after a few days of break, at the suggestion of the conciliator. This was to help advance discussions at sectoral tables regarding working conditions.
