A public reading in English ofAnatomy of a fall by Justine Triet, Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, nominated for best direction at the Oscars, is scheduled for Wednesday near Los Angeles, the American distributor of the film announced on X.

This is the actress Riley Keough (Daisy Jones & The Six), granddaughter of Elvis Presley, who will take over the role of Sandra, accused of having pushed her husband into the void and played in the film by German actress Sandra Hüller, in the running at the Oscars for the prize for best performance feminine.

Jay Ellis (Top Gun: Maverick) will voice her husband Samuel, and their son Daniel will be played by Kate Berlant. He’s the hero of the series Better Call Saul, Bob Odenkirk, who will play the lawyer, Vincent. Actress and director Olivia Wilde will also be at their side. The only member of the original cast to have made the trip: canine star Messi, who plays Snoop, the guide dog of little Daniel, who is visually impaired.

The 96th Academy Awards, a prestigious Hollywood award, will take place on March 10, after a year marked by the historic strike of Hollywood actors and screenwriters. Justine Triet, the third female filmmaker to have received the Palme d’Or at Cannes, will be in the running alongside sacred monsters of cinema like Martin Scorsese (Killers of the Flower Moon) and Christopher Nolan (Oppenheimer).

The French director, aged 45, was nominated by the French Academy for Césars and can hope to become, on February 23, the second director in history to be awarded there.
