Public Library Week | Libraries want to reconnect with families

Admittedly, the pandemic has caused a jump in the borrowing of digital children’s books, but library visits by families have declined: 53% of them say they have set foot there less recently.

The institutions would like to re-establish these links, in particular within the framework of Quebec Public Libraries Week, by presenting tools, resources and programs intended for families or aimed at children’s development.

A special program has been set up, from October 16 to 23, in establishments across the province, with stories, workshops and activities of all kinds.

For example, the Sainte-Anne-des-Monts library offers subscribed families to come and have their photograph taken on site, that of Pointe-Claire organizes a family workshop for making books by collage, while in La Tuque, children can decorate pumpkins with the help of their parents.
