Paris Saint-Germain has decided not to submit an offer for a possible takeover of the Stade de France, the sports management of Radio France learned from a source close to the matter on Wednesday January 3, confirming information from Parisian.

The capital club indicated its intention to submit a file last April. PSG finally gave up, despite compiling a file.

“We went all the way”, explains this same source. The causes of this renunciation are the numerous constraints imposed, in particular the 25-year concession. The club is very clear on this subject: it wants to own its stadium, a condition “capital city” for the development and promotion of the club.

Paris City Hall refuses to cede the Parc des Princes

Paris Saint-Germain is still looking to own its own stadium. For this, two avenues are being considered: the renovation of the Parc des Princes, which Paris City Hall is refusing to hand over for the moment, or the construction of a new enclosure in Ile-de-France.

The club has already targeted several sites, which are still confidential. PSG intends to rely on its new shareholder, Arctos Partners, which has acquired a 12% stake in the club’s capital for an amount estimated at 530 million euros. Arctos Partners specializes in the support and development of sports venues.
