PSG will participate in the new Club World Cup in 2025

Fifa formalized on Sunday the new format of the Club World Cup, contested by 32 teams from 2025.

The Club World Cup is changing its format. Sunday December 17, Fifa formalized the establishment of a new Club World Cup from 2025. From currently seven teams, the competition will increase to 32 clubs from this edition, from June 15 to July 13, 2025 in the United States . Among those qualified, twelve European teams will participate in this new competition which will further add to the schedule.

Among these twelve European clubs, the winners of the 2021 (Chelsea), 2022 (Real Madrid) and 2023 (Manchester City) Champions League. The 2024 winners will also be qualified. To determine the eight other European teams entered, UEFA uses the UEFA rankings. As such, PSG, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Porto and Benfica are guaranteed to participate. This will leave three tickets to be served.

The competition will bring together clubs from each of the six international confederations: Caf (Africa) will have four teams, like the AFC (Asia) and Concacaf (North America), UEFA (Europe) will have twelve places, Conmebol ( South America) six and OFC (Oceania) one team.
