Paris SG fans will not be able to accompany their team on Saturday December 4 in Lens during the 17th day of Ligue 1 due to a “real and serious risk of confrontation between the supporters of the two clubs”, according to a decree of the Ministry of the Interior published Friday, December 3 in the Official Journal.

“The individual or collective movement, by any means, of any person availing himself of the quality of supporter of Paris-Saint-Germain or behaving as such, is prohibited between the municipalities of the region of Ile-de-France, d ‘on the one hand, and the municipality of Lens “ in Pas-de-Calais, on the other hand, indicates the decree.

The decree underlines that the movements of the PSG are “frequently a source of public disorder” and are enamelled with brawls, jets of firecrackers, smoke bombs or agricultural bombs, causes of injuries or of fires. Thursday, November 2, the disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League (LFP) decided to close the Auteuil stand at the Parc des Princes for two matches, due to the use of pyrotechnic devices during PSG-Nantes, a match where the kop celebrated its 30th anniversary.

The ministry also considers that during meetings organized in Lens, “Some RC Lens supporters frequently demonstrate their violent behavior, manifested around and in the stadiums.” Incidents between supporters had notably disrupted the Lens – Lille match on September 18.
