D1 Arkema clubs received three out of three in the Champions League this week. After Lyon on Tuesday and Paris FC a few hours earlier, PSG won on Thursday, December 14, against AS Roma (2-1). Enough to put an end to the bleeding and register its first points in the competition after a poor start (two defeats against Ajax then Bayern Munich).
Led by Grace Geyoro and Marie-Antoinette Katoto, decisive on both goals, the Parisiennes scored just before and just after half-time. First, Katoto obtained a penalty which Geyoro transformed (45th). Then, Geyoro turned into a passer after a strike in the area to serve Katoto (46th). Roma reacted. Katarzyna Kiedrzynek delayed the deadline by repelling Manuela Giugliano’s penalty (54th), but Valentina Giacinti managed to reduce the score three minutes later (57th).
Despite Roman domination, Paris remained ahead to validate a crucial success for the continuation of its European adventure. The capital club remains last in their group with three points, but their three opponents remain within striking distance before their trip to Rome next Wednesday. Leader, Bayern has five points, Ajax and Roma have four.
