A French club will play in the final of the Women’s Champions League. It’s guaranteed. Paris Saint-Germain will face Olympique Lyonnais in the semi-finals. The capital club validated its ticket, Thursday March 28, by crushing the Swedes of BK Häcken (3-0) at the Parc des Princes. Jocelyn Prêcheur’s players mastered their match from A to Z, determined not to be satisfied with the minimum service after the short success of the first leg (2-1).

The current top scorer in the French championship, Tabitha Chawinga, opened the scoring with a powerful cross shot from the left with the help of the post (27th). The American Korbin Albert made the break by cleaning the top corner with a thirty-meter strike in the second period (70th). Mercilessly, Marie-Antoinette Katoto rushed into the gap and added to the score with a lovely diving header off a cross from Sakina Karchaoui four minutes later (74th). Confidence gained for the one who is one of the 24 players selected for the French team by Hervé Renard for the qualifications for Euro 2025.

Thanks to this perfect evening, the Parisiennes offer themselves a new shock on the European scene against their rivals from Lyon. The latter have bad memories with two eliminations in the semi-finals, in 2022 and 2020, but also the final lost on penalties in 2017. But they were also able to take them out in the quarters in 2021. A fact of weapons from which they will have to draw inspiration on April 20 and 27.
