For the first time in the history of the C1, four French clubs are involved in a 36-team league phase which will begin on September 17.

The Champions League regular season schedule is known. The schedule for the first phase of the competition was announced on Saturday 31 August by UEFA, two days after the draw which concerned PSG, Lille, Monaco and Brest.

The Parisian club will begin its campaign against the Spanish club Girona, on September 18 at the Parc des Princes. The French champions will then follow up on October 1 with a trip to Arsenal. The two shocks for the Parisians will take place on November 26 against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena and on January 22 against Manchester City at home.

For its part, Monaco will start with a big match at the Stade Louis-II by hosting FC Barcelona on September 19, while Brest will host Sturm Graz on the same day at the Stade de Roudourou in Guingamp. Lille will go to Lisbon to face Sporting on September 17.

The first day of this new Champions League format with a single group of 36 clubs will also be marked by a remake of the 2023 final between Manchester City and Inter Milan on September 18. Kylian Mbappé’s Real Madrid, European champion, will enter the competition gently by facing Stuttgart at the Santiago Bernabéu on September 17.

This first phase will end on January 29, 2025. The top eight will qualify for the round of 16 and the teams ranked 9th to 24th will play two-legged play-offs (February 11-12 and 18-19, 2025) to access it, while the others will be eliminated from all European competition. The final will take place on May 31, 2025 in Munich.
