Monaco returns to European places by correcting Nantes (4-1).
Angers – Marseille (0 – 3)
Friday evening, Marseille temporarily took the lead in the championship by knocking out 3-0, without forcing too much, the still fragile Angevins during the opening match of the 9th day, Friday evening at the Raymond Kopa stadium. Mistreated during the first half hour, OM finally took advantage of the defensive flaws of SCO, now the worst defense in the championship (21 goals conceded in 9 matches) to win thanks to Jonathan Clauss (35th), Luis Suarez (50th) and Gerson (59th).
Paris SG-Nice (2-1)
Paris Saint-Germain regained the lead in Ligue 1 by beating Nice (2-1) on Saturday, overtaking Marseille (2nd), which had won the day before in Angers (3-0). A magnificent direct free kick from Lionel Messi (29th), his first with PSG, gave Paris the advantage before Gaëtan Laborde equalized (47th) shortly after the restart. Kylian Mbappé restored the advantage to PSG (83rd) by coming off the bench on the hour mark. Christophe Galtier’s team remains undefeated, with eight wins and a draw in L1, before going to Lisbon to face Benfica , Wednesday for the 3rd day of the Champions League.
Strasbourg-Rennes (1-3)
Stade Rennais won Saturday in Strasbourg 3 to 1. It continues its rise in the Ligue 1 standings while the Alsatians sink a little more. They are more relegated than ever (18th) with only five points on the clock. Still deprived of several injured executives (Adrien Thomasson, Ludovic Ajorque), Strasbourg was courageous but could only reduce the score on a penalty from Habib Diallo.
The match changed with the severe exclusion of the Strasbourg defender Gerzino Nyamsi, who put an involuntary sole on the thigh of Benjamin Bourigeaud by clearing a ball just outside the surface (28th). The Alsatians played for more than an hour at ten against eleven. A numerical superiority which allowed Rennes to score their fourth victory of the season.
Lorient-Lille (2-1)
This seventh victory for Lorient this season allows them to secure their third place in the standings (22 points), one point behind Marseille and three behind Paris. For Lille, on the other hand, it is already the fourth defeat this season and Lille are stagnating in the middle of the table. It was the Lorient people who opened the scoring in the tenth minute on a goal from Diakite against his side. On the hour mark, Ouattara was sent off for a second yellow card and Lille pushed hard to equalize and were rewarded with David’s goal at ten minutes from the end. But even outnumbered, Lorient continued to play their game and Le Bris scored the winning goal in the dying minutes.
AC Ajaccio – Clermont (1-3)
In the middle of the table, Clermont (9th), winner at AC Ajaccio (3-1), leaves the Corsicans in last place.
Troyes-Reims (2-2)
Reims saw Troyes equalize (2-2) at the penultimate minute in the Champagne derby. Jackson Porozo saves a point (89th) for Estac (11th). Reims (17th) remains in the zone of the four relegated.
Auxerre-Brest (1-1)
In the fight for maintenance, the day is definitely not benefiting anyone. Brest (18th) let themselves be overcome by Auxerre (1-1) in numerical inferiority, despite the first goal in their new colors from the Algerian Islam Slimani. Mbaye Niang on penalty (85th sp) saved a point for AJA (14th).

Cozza had however opened the scoring for Montpellier in the seventh minute but Toulouse took the lead thanks to three goals from Spierings, Aboukhlal and Chaibi. After the break, Dejaegere scored Toulouse’s fourth goal before Desler returned to the dressing room early due to a red card. In numerical inferiority, Toulouse held the score, conceding only one goal by Wahi.
Monaco-Nantes (4-1)
AS Monaco very clearly won 4 goals to 1 against Nantes with a hat-trick from their striker Wissam Ben Yedder, Sunday at the Louis-II stadium. The Swiss Breel Embolo opened the scoring for ASM in the 2nd minute, then Ben Yedder scored the hat trick (6th, 28th and 62nd on penalty). The Brazilian of Monaco Caio Henrique allowed Nantes to save the honor by scoring against his camp in the 79th minute.
Lens-Lyon (1-0)
In a boiling Bollaert-Delelis stadium, RC Lens logically overcame (1-0) a disappointing Lyon team, which conceded its fourth consecutive defeat on Sunday evening. The Lensois dominated this meeting from start to finish, but had to wait for a penalty converted by Florian Sotoca in the last minutes.
