Paris Saint-Germain’s third goalkeeper is under contract until June 30, but will not be extended.

PSG’s Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico, victim of a very serious horse riding accident which almost cost him his life at the end of May 2023, will not be retained by Paris Saint-Germain, France Bleu Paris learned on Friday June 28 from from the player’s entourage.
The man who was the third goalkeeper of the capital club at the time of his accident is under contract until June 30. His contract will not be extended by PSG for next season.
The 30-year-old Spanish goalkeeper was taken to the Virgen del Rocio hospital in Seville on May 28, 2023, suffering from a traumatic brain injury after a horse riding accident at the El Rocio pilgrimage in Andalusia. He was placed under sedation and respiratory assistance. He was released from hospital in August, almost three months after his accident.
The goalkeeper, who joined PSG in 2019, received many tributes, including from the Parc des Princes crowd, who chanted his name throughout PSG’s final match of the season against Clermont in early June.
