The Moroccan international was heard on Thursday by the Hauts-de-Seine territorial security investigators. He “strongly denies the accusations” against him.
Paris Saint-Germain footballer Achraf Hakimi has been indicted for rape, the Nanterre prosecution announced on Friday March 3. An investigation was opened Monday, February 27, after the police received the testimony of a young woman of 24 years. She claims to have been raped at the home of the Moroccan defender, in Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine), the previous Saturday.
Achraf Hakimi, 24, was heard Thursday by Hauts-de-Seine territorial security investigators. He was placed under judicial supervision. He is forbidden to come into contact with the young woman, but he can leave French territory, said the Nanterre prosecutor’s office.
His lawyer on Friday denounced a “attempted racketeering” against his client, who “firmly denies the accusations” brought against him. His indictment “finally offers the possibility of defending oneself”, believes Fanny Colin. Contacted by franceinfo, the victim’s lawyer, Rachel-Flore Pardo, “takes note of this indictment” and remind “that an indictment is never automatic”.
PSG “gives its support” to the player
His client and the footballer first met on social networks in mid-January, franceinfo learned from a source familiar with the matter. The young woman then went Friday evening, February 24, to the home of the PSG player, where they first discussed. The two versions disagree on what happened next, after midnight: he assures him that he only kissed the young woman. The victim claims they kissed and then Achraf Hakimi sexually assaulted her before raping her. She managed to free herself and run away.
The footballer’s lawyer also argues that the young woman “refused to file a complaint, refused to submit to any medical or psychological examination and refused to be confronted with Achraf Hakimi even though the accusation is based exclusively on his words”she denounces in her press release. “We will not tolerate any campaign of denigration or destabilization”for his part reacted to these remarks the lawyer of the victim.
After the player’s indictment was announced, PSG “supported” to his defender and declared to do “trust in justice”. “The club will not comment” on this file, added a spokesperson for PSG. Coach Christophe Galtier said at a press conference that, from a sporting point of view, “The goal is for him to be available for Munich”in the round of 16 second leg of the Champions League on Wednesday against Bayern.
