Complicated evening for Parisian clubs in the Champions League. After the defeat of Paris FC at home against the Swedes of BK Häcken, Paris Saint-Germain also fell, Wednesday November 15, on the pitch of Ajax Amsterdam (0-2). A bad start for PSG in Group C, also made up of AS Roma and Bayern Munich.
The Dutch club opened the scoring shortly after the half-hour mark, through Tiny Hoekstra (33rd) before captain Sherida Spitse made the break just before the break, from the penalty spot (45th+1). After returning from the locker room, Paris took control of the game (55% possession), but the repeated attacks on Regina Van Eijk’s goal were well repelled (four saves for the Dutch goalkeeper).
Olympique Lyonnais is therefore the only French team to have won during this first day of C1, after its overwhelming victory against Slavia Prague (9-0). Parisians will find the Stade Georges Lefèvre facing Fleury on Sunday, on the occasion of the eighth day of D1 Arkema, before hosting Bayern Munich at Jean Bouin for the second day of the Champions League, on November 23.
