Friday, the CAQ confirms that Christiane Gamache will run again in Jean-Lesage, district of the Limoilou district won by Sol Zanetti of Quebec solidaire in 2018. The retired teacher, now vice-president of the party, had collected 32.4 % of votes, against 34.7% for Mr. Zanetti.

The Parti Québécois bets on an entrepreneur. Michaël Potvin, while the Conservative Party will be represented by its president, Denise Peter. The Liberal Party has yet to announce its candidate.

The CAQ intends to snatch the riding of Joliette from the Parti Québécois, following the departure of the PQ member Véronique Hivon at the end of the mandate. On Saturday, she will announce that François St-Louis will run again in this riding. This former leader of Camp Papillon and former director of development for the Society for Disabled Children is political advisor to the regional minister of the Lanaudière region, Caroline Proulx.

The deputies, the candidates named so far and the militants of the CAQ have an appointment on May 28 and 29 in Drummondville for the party convention which will be moderated by the former mayor of Longueuil and former Bloc Québécois deputy Caroline St-Hilaire . She should run in Sherbrooke against Québec solidaire MP Christine Labrie, as The Press wrote earlier this week.
