Yann, this morning, you are proud of an event that is rolling, or not…
Yes Nicolas, I am proud of a traffic jam today.
But if you think about it, corks are part of the folklore of our youth. Whether it’s the Nationale 7 for me, or the Nationale 10 for you, and I don’t know what other national-route of the holidays for whoever listens to us…, the air of the holidays, it was especially exhaust gases, and the little music of happiness was the sound of car horns. The N10 was the preferred route for Parisians to go to the Southwest. At the time, we drove through Château-Renault, Tours, Chambray and Sainte-Maure and it smelled like holidays…
You gonna get us in Doc Emmet Brown’s Dolorean??
And yes, Marty and Jenifer!! Every 2 years since 2013, in Ste-Maure-de-Touraine, the Nostal’10 association, which carries the full meaning of its project in its name, reconstructs a giant cork in Ste Maure. A sort of flashback to the 60s/70s on the N10! Nostal10 proposes to relive these moments of anthology which marked generations of vacationers who met to wait on the road of the holidays. The costumes and the old cars hitched to their rolling houses will not fail to bring back your memories!
On the occasion of Heritage Days, Nostal10 organized a whole day this weekend for the 5th edition of the event in memory of this turned page, since now everything happens on the A10.. Sunday therefore, Ste-Maure was blocked by a traffic jam, from the morning at 8.30 a.m., the vehicles, one could say collector’s items, lined up in “cork formation” to relive the famous traffic jam on the National 10 around 10 a.m. And here is Ste-Maure plunged back into the era of paid holidays with all the same, a ban on vehicles dating from after 1977 (date of construction of the A10). Even the old service station of the Relais Charles Martel has been renovated by the association’s volunteers.
And there was certainly entertainment around this event?
Yes of course ! But above all, it was an opportunity to visit the caravan and camping fair, with Le retro-camping where you could admire and/or acquire the latest models from Caravelair, Digue or Tesserault or even again for the purists, the legendary Maréchal and Raclet tents, and this, throughout the weekend.
In any case, on France Bleu Touraine, we are very proud of those who keep the memories of our heritage alive. And we won’t fail to mingle with the Bouchon de la N10, next year or in 2 years depending on what the Nostal10 association has decided!!! and why not with rillettes to share the good times of the holidays…
