The Tunisian police had never dared to storm the bar association. Since Saturday May 11, this is now done. Hooded, agents arrested Sonia Dahmani, to the cries of her colleagues. A week earlier, she had been ironic after a remark on the migration situation. She was immediately prosecuted for endangering public safety and inciting hatred.

This is the consequence of a decree promulgated by President Kaïs Saïed in 2022. It is considered liberticidal by the opposition. Authoritarianism is denounced by hundreds of demonstrators.
