After having already soared for two years, the property tax will increase by at least 3.9% in 2024, an increase in line with November inflation. In some municipalities, the bill could even be three times higher. In Villeurbanne (Rhône), the municipality decided, in parallel with the share decided by the State, to increase the property tax by 10%. For the town hall, in a context of inflation, there was no longer any choice.

Expenses difficult to absorb

In Molsheim (Bas-Rhin), expenses are also difficult to absorb with the increase in insurance prices, the index point of civil servants, but also that of energy bills. Result: in addition to the increase decided by the State, the town hall recorded an increase of 8.5% of the property tax. This is a first in 18 years. The residents are understanding. The overall increases will all be known by April 15 at the latest.
