The good news has not escaped the residents of Allennes-les-Marais (North). At the end of the month, property tax notices show a clear decrease compared to 2023: “It’s going to be good for our budget!”rejoices a resident. It must be said that the decrease is 16%.
In France for the year 2024, 409 municipalities have decided to reduce their property tax, or only 1.2% of them. Specific situations from one municipality to another as is the case in Ouistreham (Calvados). In this small town, it was the reopening of the casino that allowed the tax revaluation with a reduction to minus 15%. For a resident, this does not compensate for the increase of more than 28% in 2021: “It’s too little, we won’t get back the increase we had a few years ago”More than 82% of municipalities have decided not to change the local tax rate this year.
