The cottage category never fails to surprise us. Right now, the most expensive one for sale on Centris, close to $9 million, is nestled in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. It is a set of four log cabins, built between 1930 and 2001. The description sheet specifies that it is the “Topping Retreat,” acquired by a very wealthy New York family, having served as a set for period films and home to a 90-foot waterfall depicted on a Canadian commemorative note. To accommodate their family orgies, buyers will be able to benefit from not 10, nor 20, but 23 lodges to sleep (or otherwise) their guests.
