The driver of the vehicle was killed by the police during a refusal to comply on avenue Henri Matisse in Nice on Wednesday September 7. Around 4:30 p.m., the police spotted a car reported stolen on the expressway, called the Pierre Mathis route, which passes near Nice airport. They tried to stop the vehicle, but it refused, so the police chased it, according to an initial account from law enforcement.
They left the expressway and found themselves on the avenue Henri Matisse. There, the stolen car hit the law enforcement vehicle twice.
