She called the police on Monday September 18 in the middle of the night to report the murder of her husband by burglars. The wife of the professor at the University of Dunkirk (North) finally admitted to having stabbed her husband herself.
While in police custody, a 37-year-old woman admitted the murder of her partner, Patrice Charlemagne, 51, who was killed by several stab wounds in their home, on the night of Sunday September 17 to Monday September 18. At first, she made it seem like a burglary that had gone wrong. In the evening of Thursday September 21, the investigation continues. The prosecutor specifies that police custody will be extended and that the hearings have not been completed.
Misunderstanding among students
The couple, both teachers, worked at Ulco, the university of Dunkirk (North). The students knew them well and some are stunned by the tragedy. “In June, we organized a festival with Mr. Charlemagne and his wife, so we really saw their whole family. And we are shocked, because we didn’t expect at all that she would do that”testifies a student.
