On Monday, October 10, several businesses were unable to operate properly due to lack of fuel. Between absent employees and unusable vehicles, professionals are in difficulty.

Due to the fuel shortage, he is forced to immobilize three out of eight vehicles in his company. “We are not going to take the risk of breaking down on the road”, says Éric Varin, plumber and heating engineer in Montigny-Lès-Cormeilles (Val-d’Oise). With his five remaining vehicles, he reviewed his schedule and had to cancel five appointments. “There is a significant loss of turnover”he laments.

In a building company in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), only one in ten employees was able to travel, the others are teleworking and could not take their car. “It has consequences on the organization of construction sites (…), there are all these companies, which have to go to construction sites, carry out work, which will be subject to problems of delay”, anticipates Pascale Clergue, creator of a construction company. These difficulties are expected to continue on Tuesday, October 11.
