Alain Sarde is implicated by nine women who accuse him of rape, assault and sexual harassment.
On the red carpet in Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes), Alain Sarde, 72, was one of those who were less noticed. Now, the French producer is at the heart of new revelations. In an investigation revealed by Elle magazine, nine women accuse the man of more than 200 features of rape, assault and sexual harassment. The facts allegedly occurred between 1983 and 2003 when some of them were minor.
Several attacks allegedly took place during professional meetings at the producer’s home. Elsa, whose first name has been changed, says she was fifteen when he dragged her into his room. “Suddenly, he pushed me onto the bed. […] He held me down and raped me.”, she says. Three actresses also testify openly: Laurence Cordier, Anne-Lise Hesme and Laurence Côte, César for Most Promising Actress in 1997. None of the facts were the subject of complaints according to the magazine.
