The chief of police of the City of Mercier, Steeve Boutin, was suspended with pay on Wednesday.

Complaints have reportedly been sent to the City recently in connection with a “problematic work climate”, indicated to TVA Nouvelles, the general manager of the City, Mr. Chalifoux.
It is the deputy director of the Police Department, Sébastien Fournier, who will take over the interim.
Steeve Boutin had been chief of police since 2018.
