The facts go back to the night of Tuesday 21 to Wednesday 22 December. That evening, activists from the far-right candidate Eric Zemmour went to the Lille home of Sandrine Rousseau, finalist in the environmental primary and vice-president of the University of Lille.
Leaflets bearing the effigy of the polemicist were plastered on the front door and its facade. At the same time, garbage bags were left at the foot of his home.
The ecologist, absent at the time of the facts, was quick to react and filed a complaint at the La Rochelle police station. According to AFP, which was able to consult the complaint, it relates that the spouse of Sandrine Rousseau, present at the time of the facts, was awakened “by continuous ringing of bells “. When he opened the door, “there was no one left in the street”, specifies the complaint.
This is confirmed by the complainant, in a message posted on social networks, explaining that the “Zemmour militants drummed “ at his door. “A further step has been taken in the denial of democracy. These intimidations increase my energy tenfold in carrying ecological, social, feminist and anti-racist discourse “, she wrote.
In the aftermath of these degradations, many political figures gave their support to Sandrine Rousseau. Starting with Yannick Jadot, ecological presidential candidate, who denounces a “unbearable drift”.
At the same time, the Lille parliamentary office of the Insoumis deputy Adrien Quatennens was also the target of leaflets presenting the face of the polemicist.
