Ukraine tried on Saturday to attack “infrastructure” in central Crimea with drones, said the head of the pro-Russian local authorities of this peninsula annexed in 2014 by Moscow.

“The enemy attempted to conduct a raid using drones against infrastructure in the Krasnogvardeisky district of the Republic of Crimea,” Sergei Aksionov said.
This accusation was made five days after an attack on the bridge connecting the Crimean peninsula to mainland Russia, which left two people dead.
Mr. Aksionov, the governor of Crimea appointed by Moscow, stressed that help had been sent to the place to deal with “the possible consequences” of the drone raid.
He did not specify who had been the target of this operation and did not mention casualties.
Crimea has been targeted several times since the start of Russia’s offensive in Ukraine 17 months ago, but attacks appear to have intensified in recent weeks.
