An orchestra actually played a concert for them on Wednesday September 20. “I was far away, I was in my thoughts. (…) It was calming”testifies Salim, one of them. “I didn’t think about anything at all anymore. (…) I was really listening, sharing, and it was very moving”adds Laëtitiaanother inmate.

An introduction to the orchestra planned for prisoners

In street clothes, 70 musicians from the Lille national orchestra (North) played classics in the remand center gymnasium. This musical partnership has existed since 1995, but it has not taken place since 2019 due to Covid. To extend the enchantment, these inmates will soon have an introduction to the orchestra and will even be able to try out an instrument.
