Two of the perpetrators of the shots at a bar in Saint-Genix-sur-Guiers were sentenced to zealous prison on Thursday. The facts took place on the night of February 13.
Two bullets had passed through the windows of the sports café, while around thirty people including children were inside. Yesterday, the correctional court of Chambéry sought to understand what had happened in the minds of these young people.
They shoot the bar for revenge
On the evening of February 13, three young people drive through the village of Saint-Genix-sur-Guiers. Passing in front of the sports café, bad looks are exchanged with customers on the terrace. Knife and crowbar in hand, the young people get out of the vehicle. Bar patrons manage to scare them away and smash a car window using stools.
This is where “stupidity kicks in”, analyzes a lawyer for the civil party. Upset, the young people, already drunk, come back 30 minutes later with a shotgun.

The families present had the fear of their lives
In the sports café, about thirty people including children. The boss yells at them to get down. All were in fear of their lives. If the judgment does not remove the trauma, the sports cafe manager hopes it will bring peace to this family bar.
Thousands of euros in damages
The driver and the author of the shots were sentenced to two and a half and three and a half years respectively. One of the passengers was given an 18-month suspended sentence. All apologized and expressed regret.
The 4th person implicated was for his part a minor at the time of the facts, he will be summoned later before the juvenile judge. Many victims who are civil parties have obtained several thousand euros in damages.
