Princes William and Harry, always on the outs, adopt the same look

Did Prince Harry have a rare moment of correspondence with his brother Prince William this weekend? The Duke of Sussex, 39, was out this October 22, 2023 at the United States Formula 1 Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. And he was wearing what appear to be Finlay’s gray Marshall sunglasses – the same glasses the Prince of Wales wore to watch tennis at Wimbledon last summer!

The sunglasses protocol

A moment of fantasy for the future king who, like all members of the royal family, respects a strict protocol on sunglasses. He usually only wears them when watching sporting events. He removes them when meeting with staff and athletes to make eye contact and give a warm impression.

A habit that Prince Harry kept, who did the same during the Grand Prix. A guest of Mercedes F1 at the Circuit of the Americas, he went glasses-free to chat with British driver George Russell and Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff before the start of the race. The Duke of Sussex also visited the Red Bull team garage and spent time chatting with team principal Christian Horner, the husband of Spice Girl Geri Halliwell-Horner. Three-time world champion Max Verstappen won the F1 race, which Harry is known to be a fan of.

His attachment to motor racing

And Prince Harry has a special connection to motor racing, since in March 2020, shortly before giving up the apron and retiring from his royal duties, the youngest son of King Charles had joined forces with F1 driver Lewis Hamilton to open the Silverstone Museum in England, dedicated to the past, present and future of British motor racing.
