Prince Edward Island | Charlottetown police arrest Canada’s most wanted fugitive

(Charlottetown) Charlottetown police say they have arrested Canada’s most wanted fugitive in connection with a murder that occurred last summer in Toronto.

Michael Bebee, 35, was arrested Tuesday at a business in the provincial capital.

The arrest came after the Toronto Police Service contacted police in Prince Edward Island late last week to say it had received information that Mr. Bebee could be found on the island.

Toronto police last month issued a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Michael Bebee under the Bolo program, which offers rewards to anyone who can lead investigators to the 25 most wanted fugitives in Canada.

Bebee, wanted for his alleged role in the July 2023 shooting of Shamar Powell-Flowers, 29, in Toronto’s Greektown, was the No. 1 fugitive on the Bolo list.

Charlottetown police announced that investigators from Toronto would travel to Prince Edward Island in the coming days to escort Mr. Bebee to Ontario.
