Wednesday May 15, Robert Fico was attacked leaving a government meeting. Hit in the stomach, the Slovak Prime Minister was taken to hospital in critical conditions.
He is literally picked up by his bodyguards and pushed into his car. The Slovak Prime Minister is shot in the stomach. The camera films and returns to the barrier where the chosen one was standing shortly before. His assailant is subdued by the police. The car goes to the hospital. Transported by helicopter, Robert Fico arrives on a stretcher to be treated. He is between life and death. Four bullets reportedly hit him in the stomach on Wednesday May 15. An hour and a half earlier, the Prime Minister had arrived on the scene, very relaxed, to chair a meeting of his government and hold a press conference.
It was at the exit that a man drew a gun and shot him. Robert Fico had approached the crowd to greet them. On the evening of Wednesday, May 15, Zuzana Čaputová, the president of Slovakia, expressed her indignation: “I am in shock, we are all shocked by this terrible and atrocious attack”. Robert Fico, 59, is a pro-Russian populist leader. He ended his country’s military aid to Ukraine. He is also known for his anti-migrant positions. His alleged attacker has been identified. He is a Slovak writer. He regularly wrote political columns in which he attacked the Prime Minister. We do not currently know his exact motivations.
