Thursday, May 12, the Prime Minister, Jean Castex, organized a meal to say goodbye to his government team. He did not say what he was going to do next.
Jean Castex bid farewell to his government on Thursday May 12. The first minister has received the rugby jersey of the France team, signed by all the members of the government. He will join the jersey of the Prades team (Pyrénées-Orientales), which Jean Castex had in his office. It marks the politician’s attachment to his region and in particular to Prades, where he was mayor. “He does everyone a favor, without looking to the right, to the left”testifies a resident.
“He’s a man like everyone else, he knows everyone, he kisses everyone, he’s really the local man”, adds another resident. Jean Castex was appointed Prime Minister on July 3, 2020. Faced with criticism, he held on to manage the health crisis, without overshadowing the president. “In its relation to President of the Republic, trust is essential”, he explained. Jean Castex has already said that he does not want to become a minister or stand in the legislative elections.
