How to contribute to the energy transition without emptying your wallet? Good news: sold off by China, the prices of solar panels are in free fall.
More and more solar panels are being installed on roofs and their prices are plummeting. In the midst of the energy crisis, this is a godsend for reducing the amount of bills. Gérard Bernier installed his first solar panels a year and a half ago. On the roof terrace from his house in Savoie, this retired engineer invested 20,000 euros. He produces his own electricity and even manages to make money. “In relation to daily electricity expenses, obviously, I find myself there since overall, on average over the year, I produce more electricity than I consume. I’m going to get a check back for 1,400 euros.”the man rejoices.
Prices halved in one year
The retiree decides to install six additional panels on the walls of his house. He did not hesitate for long when he discovered the current prices of Chinese solar panels. They come from a distributor who brings out of his warehouse 2 000 panels. The fall in prices was spectacular: they were halved in one year.
