Presnel Kimpembe forfeits PSG match against Juventus Turin

This is not really very reassuring news for Presnel Kimpembe, PSG but also for the French team three weeks before the World Cup. Just before flying to Turin where he will face Juventus on Wednesday at 9 p.m., PSG announced the withdrawal of its central defender, due to a “Right Achilles tendon discomfort”__.

In its press release, PSG does not specify the duration of unavailability of its international but the club wants to be reassuring all the same “Following a blow, Presnel Kimpembe has discomfort in the right Achilles tendon and will remain in care at the training center”assures the club.

New relapse

This injury comes after a return to competition last week, for Presnel Kimpembe who came into play on Tuesday against Maccabi Haifa (7-2) before being established in Ligue 1 on Saturday against Troyes (4-3). The 27-year-old defender had been sidelined for more than seven weeks following a thigh muscle injury. It remains to be seen whether the Parisian titi will return to competition with PSG, who have three games left to play before the break, or whether the player will save himself for a possible selection for the France team for the World Cup.

PSG face Juventus in Turin on Wednesday (9:00 p.m.), with the first place in the group in the Champions League at stake, which the Portuguese Benfica are also aiming for. A meeting to follow in full on France Bleu Paris with a special broadcast from 8 p.m. to midnight.
