Aurore Bergé, Renaissance MP for Yvelines and Minister for Equality between Women and Men, was the guest of “8h30 franceinfo”, Friday July 12, 2024. Motion of censure, personality for the “Perchoir”… She answered questions from Agathe Lambret and Jérôme Chapuis.
A motion of censure will be tabled if a rebel becomes a member of the government, assures Aurore Bergé
“If tomorrow a government were to be formed with, within it, even just one Secretary of State from La France Insoumise, we would immediately file a motion of censure”warns Aurore Bergé. “So what we are saying to the New Popular Front is be careful (…) if you want to force things, if you absolutely want to appoint rebellious ministers in this government, then we can clearly see the difficulties that this would cause and the instability that this would generate.”she continues.
“I have no problem being an opposition MP tomorrow if a New Popular Front government were to be formed”assures Aurore Bergé, who has just been re-elected as MP for Yvelines thanks to the withdrawal of the LFI candidate in the second round. “On the other hand, as a member of parliament and as a political leader, I set limits and I say it very clearly: if there were a member of La France Insoumise who became a member of the government, then this government would be immediately censored.”she explains.
Yaël Braun-Pivet, “natural” candidate for the presidency of the National Assembly
“I think it’s quite natural, obviously, for the Renaissance group, that Yaël Braun-Pivet is our candidate and I hope so also for the other forces of the majority of the MoDem and Horizons”explains Aurore Bergé. According to the minister, Yaël Braun-Pivet was able to demonstrate, during her presidency, “both her freedom and the way she was able to create compromises” within the hemicycle.
