To fight against injections carried out by fake doctors, a decree published Friday May 31 makes a prescription mandatory to receive hyaluronic acid.
Swollen lips, reshaped chest, smoothed skin. Hyaluronic acid, a molecule with moisturizing properties, is increasingly popular among young people. For this generation, cosmetic surgery is no longer a taboo. But these operations will now be more supervised. According to a decree published Friday, May 31, a prescription will now be mandatory to obtain hyaluronic acid-based products.
This measure aims to protect the population against illegal injections, according to the government. Plastic surgery, dermatology and aesthetic medicine societies and unions have been asking for this measure for more than two years. It limits the distribution of these products to healthcare professionals who have the skills and know-how to use them. The authorities intend to limit fake doctors who perform illegal surgeries, a dangerous practice that can lead to serious complications.
