The governor of the Russian region of Belgorod declared on Saturday April 20 that Ukrainian bombings had caused the death of a pregnant woman in a village near the border with Ukraine. “The village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, Shebekinsky urban district, came under Ukrainian fire. A woman and an unborn baby died from their wounds”said Vyacheslav Gladkov.

Ukraine launched drones on eight Russian regions overnight from Friday to Saturday, also hitting a fuel depot and three electrical substations, a Ukrainian defense source told AFP. The strike of the night was “a joint operation” Ukrainian security services, military intelligence services and the armed forces, the source added. The governor of the western Smolensk region previously reported that Ukraine launched drones against “an oil and energy facility” during the early hours Saturday, adding that it had not been closed.

kyiv is increasing its attacks against Russia, particularly targeting oil and gas infrastructure. The Ukrainian authorities have promised to bring the fighting to Russian soil in retaliation for the numerous bombings on its territory.
